CIMIT Hosting Poster Competition at Innovation Congress 2008
SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS AUGUST 15.
CIMIT is pleased to announce that it will host a poster competition that will be judged at the CIMIT Innovation Congress 2008 on Oct. 28-29 in Boston. Submission deadline is August 15.
Awards will be given for the following: Most innovative research, $1,500; potential for patient benefit, $1,000; and best student poster, $500. Winners will be named during the conference.
The competition is open to students, post-doctoral fellows and staff investigators affiliated with an academic medical center. Applicants selected to be included in the competition must register for the conference at the reduced rate of $100 for students or the academic rate of $350 for post-doctoral fellows and staff investigators.
Poster submissions should focus on early stage, interdisciplinary research projects for improving patient care with an emphasis on devices (including drug eluting), diagnostic technologies, interventions and peri-procedurual systems. Research in drug development, information technology and clinical trials is not the focus of this poster competition.
Submissions should feature early stage research in the following areas: biomaterials and tissue engineering; clinical systems innovation; global health; neurotechnology; trauma and casualty care; biodetection and sepsis control; cardiovascular disease; image guided therapy; minimally invasive therapy; simulation; and optical imaging.
Each abstract must include title, authors, and institutions, as well as the body of the text. Each submission must meet the following document specifications: PDF format; 0.7 inch margins; font size not less than 11 point Arial. Successful applicants will be notified by Aug. 22, in order to allow time for travel arrangements.
