Ron Newbower named finalist in tech-leadership awards

Ron Newbower, PhD, co-founder and veteran executive at CIMIT, has been named as a finalist in the Mass Technology Leadership Council’s 2007 Leadership awards in the category of chief technology officer.

The awards honor Massachusetts organizations and individuals who exemplify leadership and excellence in business and technology.

Finalists were selected from a field of 180 candidates by the council’s Board of Trustees. A separate panel of judges will select the winners who will be announced at an awards event on Oct. 18 at the Westin Copley Place.

“These honors represent the spirit of innovation, the history of accomplishment and the future promise that define the Massachusetts technology community,” said Joyce Plotkin, president of the leadership council.

CIMIT Director John Parrish, MD, said, “Ron has been with CIMIT from the beginning, and is a major reason the organization has achieved success. This is a well-deserved nomination.”
