Background:
Dr. Baim joined CIMIT in May 2000, with nearly 18 years of experience in interventional cardiology and in the development and optimal application of newer devices such as stents, atherectomy, clot removal, distal embolic protection, and angiogenesis. He has published more than 250 scientific papers in the field, is known internationally for his leadership of clinical trials concerning the mechanisms and optimal techniques for performing new interventional procedures. Dr. Baim was selected as the year 2000 recipient of the annual lifetime Career Achievement Award given by the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) meeting. Through CIMIT, Dr. Baim is applying his substantial experience in fostering the development of new technology in the interventional cardiology area, to the broader spectrum of healthcare.
