Background:
Colleen M. Kigin, MPA, DPT, CIMIT Chief of Staff, supports the efforts of the Director, including inter-institutional relations and government liaison. CIMIT, the Center for Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology, a Boston-based consortium of the major teaching hospitals and engineering schools, brings together financial resources, scientific insights and business expertise from leading academic and industry participants. CIMIT’s mission is to catalyze technologic innovations that will have a major beneficial impact on healthcare. Dr. Kigin also serves on the Science Review Committee, and provides CIMIT guidance for projects that focus on rehabilitation of patients with disabilities. A physical therapist by background, Dr. Kigin was the Director of Physical Therapy Services at MGH. At Partners HealthCare System, she coordinated the system’s cost reduction efforts from 1994 to 1998. She presently is an Assistant Professor at the MGH Institute of Health Professionals. Dr. Kigin earned her Masters in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard and her doctorate in physical therapy from the MGH IHP.
