Background:
Pierre Leblanc received a BS. in Biochemistry from McGill University
in Montreal, and a PhD in biochemistry at McMaster University,
where he studied the structure-function relationship of biological
membranes. After this, Dr. Leblanc studied molecular and cellular
immunology at
MIT, where he focused on the gamma/delta T-cell receptor. He
then moved to Tufts University Medical School, and, after that,
to Boston
University
Medical School, where as a staff scientist, he studied autoimmunity
in HIV infected individuals. Pierre has held several positions
in industry including posts as a senior scientist for antibody
product development,
and as a director of molecular biology at a small company in
Franklin Massachusetts where he worked on the development of
microarray targets
for the study of malaria. Dr. Leblanc has also worked as an
application specialist on the development of a 96-well ultrafiltration
plate at
Millipore. Before joining CIMIT, Dr. Leblanc served as a consultant
in molecular neurobiology at McLean Hospital.
