Background:
Dr. Yu holds a BS from Peking University in biology, a
medical degree from Peking Union medical college, and a PhD
in nutritional biochemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(MIT). He has been working
at the Massachusetts General Hospital since 1980, when he
joined the MGH as a surgical research fellow. He has also has
spent time at MIT, where
he has worked as a postdoctoral research associate (1987-1991),
and as a visiting scientist (1991-present). In 1995, Dr.
Yu
was made an Assistant
Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He now spends
the majority of his time doing research at MGH ’s Shriners Burns
Hospital.
