Forum Abstract

Given that the medical profession has failed to be self-policing in terms of conflict of interest, some form of regulation seems appropriate. Much of the criticism of conflict of interest regulation has assumed, incorrectly, that proponents of regulation are anti-industry and are opposed to collaboration between industry and academia. Many of those opposed to regulation have also misrepresented the views of those who favor regulation. Jerome Kassirer will express his views on these issues.
