Canon Development Americas, Inc., Joins CIMIT's
Industry Liaison Program (ILP)

CAMBRIDGE, MA - August 1, 2006 - CIMIT is pleased to announce that Canon Development Americas, Inc. has joined the Industry Liaison Program.

Canon is a global imaging company with a broad array of products including cameras, printers and medical products such as digital radiography devices and retinal cameras. Canon would like to expand its healthcare business through the development of innovative medical imaging products, leveraging the company’s exceptional imaging and optical expertise.

Canon's particular areas of interest include:

Molecular Imaging and Diagnostic Imaging Modalities, including MRI, OCT, and Photo Acoustic Contrast Agents Molecular Probes Medical Imaging Processing Systems By working with CIMIT, Canon hopes to establish fruitful, long-term research collaborations with experts within the CIMIT consortium.
