Creare, Inc., Joins ILP
CAMBRIDGE, MA, November 9, 2005 - CIMIT is pleased to announce that Creare, Inc. has joined the Industry Liaison Program.
Creare, Inc. is a NH-based engineering research and development
firm with projects ranging from building spacecraft cryogenic systems to
developing
new algorithms for medical image processing. Creare works in a wide variety
of biomedical applications, building on core capabilities in precision
fabrication, software development, signal and image processing, sensor
design, control
systems, and thermal/fluid technology. Their diverse engineering capabilities
include computer simulation, novel fabrication techniques and materials,
as well as a fundamental understanding of physical processes.
Creare is a small company (100 people, including 45 engineers) that is
focused on the development and demonstration of novel technology. They
seek to commercialize
their biomedical technology through licensing arrangements with existing
medical equipment vendors, or create spin-off companies.
Creare has joined CIMIT in order to form collaborations with academic clinicians
interested in the development of novel medical technology, specifically
in the areas of image-guided surgery, imaging and characterization of tissue,
and physiologic modeling and signal processing. It is anticipated that
some
of these collaborations will lead to the development of SBIR proposals.
The company also seeks out relationships with medical equipment vendors
who are
interested in licensing technology to enable image-guided laparoscopic
abdominal surgery.
If you would like to meet with the company to discuss collaborative opportunities, please contact Ann Humphrey (ahumphrey@partners.org).
