CAMBRIDGE, MA - June 23, 2005 - CIMIT is pleased to announce that Payload Systems, Inc. has joined the Industry Liaison Program.

Based in Cambridge, MA, Payload (http://www.payload.com) provides science and engineering services for US and international research programs—from human performance and cellular biology to materials science and fluid and structural dynamics. The company also provides spaceflight payload development and testing, crew training and mission support services. Payload has spent over 20 years solving unique and difficult engineering problems. It has worked with government agencies such as NASA, the Air Force Research Laboratory and the Los Alamos National Laboratory, as well as private industry entities such as Boeing, General Electric, and Lockheed Martin, and has received numerous awards from NASA and international partner organizations.

Payload Systems has joined CIMIT in hopes of expanding the reach of thier projects. They have recently begun to transition technologies developed for spaceflight and high-performance terrestrial applications into other sectors, including biotechnology and health care. They believe that their membership in CIMIT will help them introduce these technologies to CIMIT researchers and to expose them to new opportunities to bring advanced research and development to practical application.
