CIMIT Partners with Museum of Science, Boston
CIMIT is pleased to launch a new partnership with the Museum of Science in Boston, which will result in a new series of public conversations about cutting edge medical technology issues that affect all of our lives.
Our first program, “The Supersizing of America,” takes place on November 13th in collaboration with the MGH Weight Center. We will take a broad look at the concept and condition of obesity, its possible causes, the effects this national epidemic is having on our health, and ways in which we can effectively combat the problem. We will be welcoming a panel of experts from a variety of disciplines to give their opinions on the matter, then spend some time fielding audience questions, comments, and suggestions. We also will be offering support and reference materials to attendees as part of a resource center from a variety of related health groups and organizations.
“The Supersizing of America” is free and open to all that are
interested in this issue. We would like to invite you and your constituents
to come and participate in this program, bringing your own unique perspectives
and responses to the mix. Please feel free to post the flyer, or send email
to cangel@mos.org or call (617) 589-0419.
We would also welcome any related materials you might have to include in our
resource area; this might include programs on nutrition awareness, healthy
lifestyles, exercise, diabetes, etc. Please contact Monica Parker-James at
(617) 589-0386 or mparker-james@mos.org
if your group would like to be represented in this resources area.
