Proudly, after only seven years, CIMIT has shown the power of connecting brilliant minds from numerous fields of expertise. We know this collaborative process works to improve and save lives.

Concentrated efforts have produced innovations such as:

• Training devices that mimic, or simulate, actual human medical problems. This means clinicians can practice medical procedures on testing devices, rather than on actual patients
• A working surgical laboratory, The Operating Room of the Future. Minimally invasive techniques and advanced network communications means shortened procedure time and reduced patient recovery times

In the near future, the technology will exist to diagnose illness by analyzing a single puff of a patient's breath. This same technology will be at work to protect us from bio-terrorism by detecting tiny molecules of airborne infectious diseases.
