CIMIT Announces Winners of 2009 Poster Contest

CIMIT is pleased to announce the winners of the CIMIT Innovation Congress 2009 Poster Contest.

Top choice in the category of Most Innovative Research was Faisal Kashif of MIT. His project was titled “Non-invasive Model-based Cerebrovascular Monitoring for Neurotrauma.” CIMIT awarded $1,500.

Winner for Greatest Potential for Patient Benefit was Lauren O'Neill of Virginia Commonwealth University. The project was "Operation Simple: A Low-Cost, Collapsible Surgical Table for Developing Countries.” The prize was $1,000.

And first place for Best Student Poster was Kimberly Ann Zubris of Boston University. The project was “Ease of Synthesis, Controllable Sizes, and In Vitro Efficacy of Polymeric Nanoparticles.” The winner was awarded $500.

The awards were made in conjunction with the CIMIT Innovation Congress 2009, which drew more than 650 clinicians, engineers, scientists, students, military and government officials.
