Lesson 8: Seek out seasoned, objective advisors.

Successfully navigating the entrepreneurial journey is all about managing risks and seizing opportunities when presented. Getting advice from people who have “been there and done that” is invaluable to an entrepreneur at any stage of development. It helps an entrepreneur understand the risks (the things that may kill you) and opportunities (the things that help you make your own luck) as well as options to address them. Successful entrepreneurs take time to give their advisors a good sense of the situation so their advance is most relevant. So, while still networking and engaging with users, customers, and other stakeholders, they assemble a small group of seasoned advisors with complementary experiences and perspectives and invest the time needed to benefit from their advice.
